Water 75% of earth's area is covered by water. Water is the major component of all living being and it is the major constituent of human cell. Ayurveda considers water (jala or aap) as one of panchamahabhutas. Panchamahabhutas constitute human body. Water provides a good medium for most of the biological processes that happen in living beings.
Our body is made up of 70% water. Water is literally our bodys life force.ITis involved in nearly every bodily process, including digestion, absorption, circulation and excretion. Almost 2/3 rd of our body weight is water weight.

Lack of water can lead to dehydration a condition that occurs when you don't have enough water in our body to carry out normal functions. Even mild dehydration can drain our energy and make you tired , Water is also the primary transport of nutrients throughout our body. Dehydration or loss of water from body causes dry skin, lowered energy, muscles cramps, reduced alertness and effects vital organs.
HOW MUCH WATER DO YOU NEED:
Without adequate water we would poison ourselves with our own metabolic wastes. You have probably, heard that you should drink 3 litres of water a day. How much water you actually need depends on our weight, level of activity, the temperature and humidity of our environment, and our diet.Every day a person lose water through our breath, perspiration, urine and bowel movements. For our body to function properly, you must replenish its water supple by consuming beverages and foods that contain water. Replacement approach : - The average urine output for adults is about 1.5 liters a day. You lose close too an additional liters of water a day. Food usually accounts for 20 % of our total fluid intake, so if you consume 3 liters of water a day along with our normal diet, you will typically replace the lost fluids. If you feel thirsty or not, consume water after 2 hrs of each meals.
